Teacher Blogging

Warlick, David (2006) A day in the life of web 2.0, Tech and Learning February 2011 http://www.techlearning.com/article/13980

Teachers are blogging about current assignment and what lessons they are teaching in class some teachers are using it to integrate lessons. For example the article talks about a health and science teacher who come together to make a lesson that pertains to both class subjects.
On the other hand some teachers are having students blog about articles. After one student has done that their classmates will respond in agreement and disagreement, to teach them that there are other opinions besides yours.
Some teachers are also using class wiki's. The teacher from the article uses one to encourage his students, to take responsibility for their learning on their own (become independent). He also records class discussions, making it accessible to for students parents to go back and listen to the class discussion their student had that day in class.
The whole school is using this blog. While some students maybe working on their assignments at the same time their parents could listen to what happened in class that day. At the same time another teacher can be reading the weekly blogs, or even writing one of their own blogs. While the principal is writing up the calander of activities coming up for the community to see. This blog also allows the superindent to see what is going on within his or her schools in their district.
